During the busy week, saving time in the kitchen is a must! This pressure cooker quinoa recipe is a huge time saver! I usually make quinoa as part of my weekly meal prepping to use throughout the week. This pressure cooker quinoa recipe saves you time and is easy to pair with a multitude of dishes!

Quinoa: The Super Grain

Quinoa is a frequent ingredient in my meals because it is a healthy grain packed with protein, folate, iron, and fiber. Quinoa is an ancient grain that dates back to over 5,000 years ago!

This superfood pairs well with almost anything and is so easy to prepare. I typically use quinoa in place of rice in recipes, especially on days that I am eating vegetarian and want to increase the protein content of a meal.

As a mindful eater, I like to make sure that what I eat provides nutritional value and not just empty calories. Not only is quinoa packet with nutrients, but it also is a complex carbohydrate which is ideal for diabetics.

Pressure Cooker: The Must-Have Kitchen Gadget

So a quick note on pressure cookers. If you do not have one yet, get one! This has been an absolute game-changer for me, especially for meal prepping. I currently have the Mealthy Pressure Cooker which I have been more than happy with.

The Mealthy Multi-Pot is a Pressure Cooker very similar to the InstantPot, but at a lower price and with more accessories. Their customer service is excellent as well which I learned after I had an unfortunate event with not enough water and blowing the fuse (thank you Mom brain).

The pressure cooker helps you steam vegetables, sweet potatoes, and fruits in under 20 minutes. This is a lifesaver for cooking for babies and toddlers! You can prepare meals in minutes that otherwise would take hours in a slow cooker.

  • Pressure Cooker


  • 1 cup quinoa
  • 1 cup water


  • Add quinoa and water to pressure cooker
  • Program to pressure cook for 2 minutes
  • Allow pressure cooker to slow release for approximately 10 minutes
  • Stir and enjoy!
